The razor which changed my life
Like most of people, I have tried many brands of razors, from disposable to classic ones. During my younger age, I only used disposable razors, at the time, they only used one blades with a smoothing strip, and they were manufactured by the same brands as the famous ones nowadays: Gillette, Wilkinson or Bic. The blade didn’t really produce a smooth shave because of its poor gliding, it was hardly comfortable and my skin was cut under my ears and my nose.
One day, I was reading a man magazin and I saw an ad for a classic razor from the brand Merkur of Solingen. The razor advertised was expensive compering to the disposable ones, and used real blades! So I checked around and I found my first real razor at a nice entry price: The Merkur 23C Long Handled Classic:

This was trully my first luxury razor! Very light, with chrome finish and long handled double edged razor, this jewel of German manufactury is built to last with the craftmanship that is synonymous with the Merkur name. Also, it needs a care handling and some preparation to use. This is what we will discover later.
