An aftershave is a lotion, gel, balm, or liquid used by men after finished shaving their face. It usually contains an antiseptic agent such as alcohol to prevent infection from cuts as well as razor burns, a perfume to enhance scent, and a moisturiser to soften the skin. There are also some alcohol-based, fragrance-free astringent that can be used as aftershave.
