I approached Sweeney Todd with trepidation, accepting been underwhelmed with most of Tim Burton’s contempo achievement and every screen musical of the decade. The biggest problem I have with Burton’s films is that his screenplays rarely manage to pull their disparate elements into a acceptable whole. Here, adapting the actual to his own sensibilities and abridgement the comedy by an hour, he adheres carefully to Sondheim’s book, consistent in the most dramatically acceptable film Burton has ever made.

Sweeney Todd / Johnny Depp
I admired the adjustment of the off-off Broadway Hedwig and the Angry Inch, but have been left underwhelmed by all the recent big budget film musicals, so I’m glad to say that Sweeney Todd, wipes the floor with every major screen musical of the last decade, including the agreeable if over continued Hairspray. Most surprising is how shockingly gruesome the the film becomes in the second half. The abandon violence escalates towards the end leading towards a climax that is exhilarating, heartbreaking and satisfyingly bleak.
Sondheim’s score is a joy to listen to from beginning to end, its dark romanticism sometimes reminding me of Bernhard Herrmann, perfectly fitting what is both a musical and a horror film in equal measures. Depp and Bonham Carter are both excellent and their performances that I never quite lost sympathy with them in their descent into madness, blood lust and cannibalism.
Musical haters may not be converted as 75% percent of the dialogue is sung, but this absolutely dispatches any angle of arid sentimentally the genre is generally associated with.

A hairdresser is a universal term referring to someone whose occupation is to cut or style hair in order to change or maintain a person’s image. This is achieved using a combination of hair colouring, haircutting and hair texture techniques.
Some barbers prefer to see themselves as hairdressers or hairstylists. There is a common misbelief that barbers do not perform any service other than hair cutting and that cosmetologists perform all coloring and perms. In fact, barbers can cut hair, trim beards, color, perm, provide facials and shave. They are also licensed to work with artificial hair replacement products (toupées, etc).

Meet the barber
Many working stylists are legally barbers. There is some professional rivalry between barbers and cosmetologists, both of which are licensed and regulated. At one time, both groups were allowed to cut hair, but only barbers were allowed to shave or trim beards: this required mastering the arcane technique of using a straight razor. Today, barbers and stylists may be found working side by side in establishments known as male salons. Male salons have afforded the barber the opportunity to remain traditional in all aspects of the term, yet also progressively contemporary as fashion and trends evolve. In male salons, hairstylists and barbers seek to accommodate the modern male hairstyle trends by employing traditional hair styling and straight razor shaves with modern practices such as texturizing techniques and color.

The President’s Barber (Hyojadong Ibalsa) is a 2004 South Korean film directed by Lim Chan-sang. It follows a barber, his wife, and their only son through four decades of tumultuous Korean history.

The President's Barber
Much as in Forrest Gump, we see important moments in South Korean history through the eyes of the titular barber, who is drafted to be the official barber of President Park Chung-hee. The role of the barber is played by Song Kang-ho and Moon So-ri plays his wife.

It is believed to be the first in the world. Kwame Boyce-Deacon, 14, is a big fan of Obama and wanted his face clipped and shaved into the back of his head.

Teenager has face of Barack Obama shaved into his hair
“Obama is the first black President of America and I’m the first black model of Obama in Leicester – which is special for me. I don’t know anyone else who could draw that well, let alone with a blade on the head” he said. The haircut is amazing. All my friends are impressed as they know no one else has this. I’ve become a bit of a celebrity.“

Facial hair is a secondary sex characteristic in human males. Many men start developing facial hair in the later years of puberty, approximately between 13-18 years old and most men don’t finish developing a fully adult beard until their early 20s or even later. This can vary, however, and males as young as 11 have been known to develop facial hair that require routine shaving. Further, many women also have some facial hair, especially after menopause, though typically much less than men.
Male pogonotrophy (the growing of facial hair; i.e, beardedness) is often culturally associated with wisdom and virility. Many men style their facial hair into beards, moustaches, goatees or sideburns. However, many others completely shave their facial hair. The term whiskers used when referring to human facial hair indicates the hair on the chin and cheeks. Abraham Lincoln was said to have grown a beard because an 11-year-old girl named Grace Bedell wrote to him, saying that he would look better with one.
Women typically have little hair on their faces, apart from eyebrows and the vellus hair that covers most of their bodies. However, in some cases women have noticeable facial hair growth. Excessive hairiness (especially facially) is known as hirsutism, and is usually an indication of abnormal hormonal variation. In contemporary western culture, almost all women shave, tweeze or otherwise depilate facial hair which does appear, as there is considerable social stigma associated with facial hair in women. Freak shows and circuses once displayed (usually fake)
