This is another great shaving trivia for you. Have you ever asked yourself who was crazy enough to grow the longest beard in the world ?

Hans Langseth of Norway grown the longest beard ever, whose whiskers stretched an incredible 5.33 m (17 6 in) when measured upon his death in Kensett, Iowa, in 1927. The beard was presented to the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, in 1967.

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

The Apollo 10 crew became the first to shave in space in May 1969. After electric shavers with vacumn attachments didn’t work in testing, the astronauts used brushless shaving cream and standard safety razors on their flight and they worked well, even catching the loose whiskers.

Here is a video of the first South African in space having a shave in ero gravity:

India Infoline - Shaving Study in India

India Infoline - Shaving Study in India

This is a little story from India Infoline, related to a study done on men’s shaving habits and preferences by AC Nielsen and Gillette. The results might indeed shock you: It’s not about the fact that “93% [of] men like to be clean shaven in India and 80% of men feel more handsome after shaving”, it’ about the next two findings:

• Women in Chennai (97% of them) agree that men are more likely to be caught by bouncers if they are unshaven more than other towns.
• 85% of women from Bangalore agree that unshaven men are lazy more than most towns.

This is just being ridiculous! What kind of study is that? Is it because Gillette has made too much profits and it’s looking to waste some capital in worthless studies? (more…)
